When I was younger my Mom literally forced me to be friends with a neighbor's child. I didn't like her, and although I'd invite her over, I didn't talk to her. I'd let her play with my toys and I wouldn't say anything. I didn't like her, but I didn't hate her. Lately my Mom told me that she didn't understand why I didn't like this child. This I told her, "Everybody has preferences. I could like things and I could dislike things. Most people struggle in between, but I know the difference. I know what I like. And I know what I don't like. And I'm not scared to voice which is which."
So don't come to me for attention. Don't come for compliments. I give truths, not lies.
