Since I was too lazy to organize my thoughts, this is what you get.
- JAMIE WAS PERFECT. He played the role of Jace perfectly...
- Though I swear if I didn't read the books, I'd get so confused. It's jam-packed of info, dumped all at once.
- At the end when Clary used a rune to clean her house... wtf Runes DO NOT work that way, do they?
- I expected more Magnus Bane lines/interaction. His party was so brief, I didn't even get to see the author's cameo.
- The demon summoning (with the swords forming a star). I THOUGHT THAT WAS COOL. Though, how the hell was Valentine able to summon demons on a holy ground? Uncool. The book doesn't support that.
- Jocelyn was so pretty...
- When Simon said, "I was the one who has always been there for you... not him!" AWWWWWW MY HEART MELTED
- I super loved the comedy in the film, it gave justice to the book.
- I thought Isabelle was badass in the book. But no, she was BADASS in the film.
- DAMN Luke was so hairy lol
- Why isn't Simon a rat? What he took (the drink) from Magnus Bane's party, why the hell nobody explained that?
- Why wasn't the term PARABATAI introduced? (I don't remember if this was introduced in the first book anyway.)
- Why Valentine... Why can't you just wear a shirt? lol
- The "Clave" wasn't explained, nor was Idris, Alicante. (I don't remember if this was introduced in the first book anyway.)
- Did Magnus Bane really didn't wear pants on his party? (I can't remember.)
- The Bach thingy, I can't remember if it existed in the book.
- JAMILY/CLACE has the chemistry for sure.
- Overall I really love the film, but I cannot give it all. It is a little disappointing, if not for the characters.
- It felt more character-driven than story-driven.
- It's weird when you read it from the book, it seems all cool. But once it's been interpreted on screen, it gets cliche.
- I think that's the Director's job, right? The interpretation?
- The Greenhouse Scene is all wrong just because of Demi Lovato's song. Really? It ruined the moment! It made it seem like a high school chick flick.
- The demon-transitions were cool.
- I feel like the dialouges are missing some elements too. Facts weren't explained well. It became like a whirlpool of ideas. That's the screenwriter's job, right?
- Valentine's character interpretation is so wrong in many levels.
- The Mortal Cup... Valentine's supposed to have it in the end, making it the basis for the second book/movie. But NO.
- Snow? REALLY?!
- If I can give stars, I'd give this 3.9/5, Can't give it a 4 because it's not good enough. Can't give it a 5 because it just isn't perfect. Can't give it a 3.5, because I'm a fan of the books.
- They better adjust everything that's wrong with City of Bones on City of Ashes. THEY BETTER
