FRIEND-ZONED

What's more awkward than being around people you just met? What's more awkward than feeling out of place or left out because people know each other, and you're basically the new girl, or the weird girl, or the extra girl? What's more awkward than nodding along on conversations because you're either too lazy to ask where the topic has gotten or too embarrassed to ask about a certain foreign word?

I know.

I experienced.

I experienced it today.

Being told you've been liked is more awkward. Not because friends around you are listening in, and they're purposely just keeping their distance so they can tease you later. Not because you had to accept the flowers that came along with it, and all you can think of is how to hide it in your bag. Not because you don't like him back and there's that voice inside your head shouting "friend-zoned!".

It's because it was like.... nothing.

No flattery.
No surprise.
No difference.
Nothing.
