My books are my babies. They aren't just books. They're compatible worlds built on pieces of paper, of interconnected words that give meaning to life. So you must know how important my books are to me. Therefore, if I trust you enough to lend you my babies, I expect you to live up to that trust. Initiative. That's all I ask. Conviction. If you ask me to lend you a copy of The Fault In Our Stars or Divergent, I expect you really want to read it. I don't care how long it takes. I have no problems if you're a slow reader as long as I know my book is still of use. But if you text me in the middle of the night, and tell me you have finished tfios and couldn't move on, I expect you'd be returning it anytime soon. Get some common sense. If you borrow something and you no longer have use of it, give it back. At least find a way.
You borrowed it.
You return it.
I try to compromise.
I was always the one trying to match our schedules so you can conveniently hand my book back.
Once.
Twice.
Thrice.
Maybe you need medication for your memory gap.
I text you and you respond as if you're the most considerate and cooperative person in the world but during the actual day you become the most forgetful person in this entire universe.
Once.
That's fine. I tend to forget some stuff too.
Twice.
It's still cool, after all, I deserve an award for being the most understanding person ever.
But thrice.
And so on?
Dude you suck!
And because of you, never again, never again will I be lending books to anyone! Except if you live in my neighborhood, I can make an exception.
But you know what?
Still.
FCKYOU.
{ ps don't worry, we're still friends }
