Video above: FAITHLESS by Black Veil Brides
The above video features 1/2 songs from the new Black Veil Brides self-entitled album, coming out this October 2014. Before 'Faithless' was released, Heart of Fire took over the Internet. But unfortunately, I can no longer find a decent version online, somehow their label must have put down all the good ones. And all that's left on Youtube are covers. So I decided to do a 2 in 1 post where I talk about my opinion of the two songs: 'Heart of Fire' and 'Faithless'.

A little back story. Black Veil Brides jumped on my list of Favorite Bands this year. From hearing Fallen Angels and The Legacy from two years ago or so, my interest of the band has increased since I listened to their third album 'Wretched and Divine: Story of the Wild Ones'. And so, being a newly advocate of their music, I didn't know what to expect, or even... how to expect.
The 4th album has been described by sources as a coming back to roots kind of music. Something similar to their first two albums, or to put it on good terms, an improved version of both. And I suppose I was a little hesitant. I wasn't a fan of heavy music in the first place, that's why Wretched and Divine was the perfect blend for me. I didn't know whether I'd like this coming back to roots technique they're playing.
Heart of Fire
by Black Veil Brides
I didn't like Heart of Fire on my first two listens. The production was amazing, of course, but I feel like it lacked a certain feel. The same feel I've grown attached to with Wretched and Divine. (Let it go Lilah!) And adding to my disappointment was Andy Biersack's vocal. Wretched and Divine was so melodic and dramatic and just emotional in a way that it highlighted Andy's vocal more. And that is probably why I love it so much. I suppose it's still okay, since Set The World on Fire (Their 2nd album) was also an amazing record, being it featured the same heavy music. What really threw me off was Andy's falsetto towards the latter part of the song. Not working out for him or the song or the band. Just a big NO.
But I'm still trying to get a grip... It's one of those songs you may like once you put on repeat and I am determined to love their new stuff.
Faithless
by Black Veil Brides
Faithless on the other hand, was amazing. I LOVE IT! It redeemed BVB for me. However, I realized that I am loving the instrumentals more, rather than the vocals. The chords was just catchy! Everyone else's talent most definitely improved. Everyone amazed me except for, well, Andy. On this track, his vocals are fairly average, though still pretty good compared to Heart of Fire. Oh Andy, you may want to step down the cigarettes a notch!
Lyrics was amazing too! I super love the chorus. I am unsure of the exact words though, but this is what I deciphered. Lyrics are un-google-fiable yet. (If there's such word)
"Even if I fall down to my knees
I'll never say a prayer I don't believe
And I will never look up to the sun
But I will never be the faithless one."
Faithless is one of those songs I will love on the first repeats, but won't be in my all time favorite songs of my lifetime. Does that say something with the upcoming album? Nevertheless I'm still excited! There's a track for everyone anyway. My next favorite song could be waiting for me.
