Wrapping up September 2014

I used to only do hauls, but then I've decided to do wrap-ups instead, which will also include the haul, a monthly favorites list, and an overall summary of events for specific months.

To begin with, let's do SEPTEMBER of 2014.

WRAP UP

This month, my OJT ended, tried Antonov Apple for the first time, shared a drink with my OJT Family during one of the VP's birthday, launched The Sneaky Skull as well as the first two chapters of my new story "Let's Play Truce or Dare", bought a lot of stuff including books and posters and Iced Tea, anticipated new song releases from Black Veil Brides and Hilary Duff, saw only one movie which is Vampire Academy and I didn't like it, watched and discontinued the K-drama "The Night Watchmen" because it's boring and too slow, slouched around the house pondering what will happen to my life next, and spent the remaining week of September with my Mom and my little brother in Pampanga, helping out with Mom's LotuSpa.

FAVORITES

Music

Black Veil Brides (self-entitled album) is set to be released on October 27, 2014 but as an early present, the band released two songs from the album. One of those "presents" is FAITHLESS. To understand why I fell in love with this song, I've documented my initial thoughts on the track here.

This next song is a recent re-discovery of mine from the band The Pretty Reckless, that fronts the Gossip Girls star Taylor Momsen. The track is called HEAVEN KNOWS and has a rock n roll vibe to it. However, I'm far from being a fan of the lyrics and the music video. The melody is solely what I loved and of course, Taylor Momsen's voice.

TV Shows

Since my OJT ended September 12, I got loads of free time on my shoulder. I've finally decided to watch episodes of ATTACK ON TITAN, which is an anime. I don't usually watch anime, but AoT got so much hyped, I decided to give it a shot. I'm glad I did. It's awesome! It's not your typical drama, but rather filled with mind-blowing, thrilling scenes wrapped in this really cool apocalyptic idea that Titans are eating humans and the only way to survive is cower behind gigantic walls. The plot is unique and just amazing! The plot twists nearly drove me crazy! This is most definitely a must-watch anime... and that explains why I marathon-ed the entire Season 1 only in one day.

Yet another great TV show I watched this month is the Korean Drama I HEAR YOUR VOICE. This drama is a love story mixed with mystery, crime, and court room drama featuring Lee Bo-Young, Lee Jong-Suk, and Yoon Sang-Hyun. The mystery part of this show is the magical powers Lee Jong-Suk's character suddenly possessed after his Father died. His ability to hear people's thoughts helped the character of Lee Bo-Young, who is a lawyer, to solve her cases including the case Lee Jong-Suk's Father was involved with prior to his death. There is also a mix of love story in this show which adds an interesting extra to the overall flavor of this K-drama. Definitely one of my top 10 favorite K-dramas of all time.

Food

I recently visited my Mom and my Brother in Pampanga and along with my cousin and aunt, we went to Marquee Mall in Angeles, Pampanga. Just as we were leaving, we ended up trying this Pretzel stall called AUNTIE ANNE'S and boy we probably spent Php500 combined for trying their Soft Original Pretzel, which is just amazing on its own... like a crispy pan-de-sal tied in a cool knot, their Cream Cheese Sticks (Php75 a cup) which was heaven and I believe has a mix of cinnamon, cream cheese, and something else. We also tried their bite size Nuggets (Php70/cup) which I have no idea what its called, but has the same ingredient as the Cream Cheese Stick only without the cream cheese and the stick part, and lastly, we tried their Cream Cheese dip with both the nuggets and the Pretzel and WOW! Fantastic! I definitely want to go back. I wish I can have Auntie Anne for a neighbor.

Products

First thing's first is my new purse from Human for I believe costs around Php500-700. I mean, just look at it below! It's black, has skulls, and adjustable straps!

Although the size is slightly inconvenient, eventually, I learned to adapt. Most of my stuff are now either the mini version or the tiny version, including my new umbrella which I purchased from Watsons for a very cheap price. I kind of regret buying it in black though, because then I couldn't use it in the sun because it radiates too much heat. Anyway, it's small enough to fit in my bag so it's okay. Not that the umbrella is one of my favorites this month, just the bag. I repeat: just the BAG.

Next product I've being wearing since I got it is a new cologne from Lewis and Pearl, from the Scent Shop collection, called the ROCK IN RIO. I can't remember the price though, but I remember getting it from SM Supermarket. It should exist at Watsons though, I'm sure. Love love love the scent and the packaging. Totally going to last me for more than one month. I may need to repurchase though, I'm running out. Yikes! I'm not going to describe the scent here because I don't know how. At the back of the bottle it just says, " Get drenched in this soul-sexy vibe of Brazil with this hot tropical mix of mandarins and vanilla." Do the math!

Now I've been looking for this earring for a long time now and I finally found a pair! I believe it's called a "TUNNEL" kind of earring? I don't know. I got it at a Flea Market for either Php30/pair or Php20/pair. I've been seeing the same design for a while but I needed the fake one because I don't have stretched earlobes, therefore I cannot wear the real "tunnel". So the fake one is a blessing! It will give the impression that I did stretch my earlobe!

HAUL

Now this haul will no longer include the above products, but the rest that didn't make it in my favorites list this month.

These posters were very cheap from Comic Alley! They're only Php20 each and so I bought three! I did mention loving Attack on Titan this month, so this purchase is well predicted.

I don't know if this is some legit Avril Lavigne endorsement but it has Avril Lavigne on the packaging so it's definitely going to my collection. What does the content taste like? The usual bottled lemon iced tea. Not a fan. I got this from 7-Eleven for less than Php50.

The lipstick, I also got from SM Supermarket from Maybelline New York Cosmetics for less than Php200 (Color Show Collection). I got the shade in 101 Pink Avenue.

I also got this fake Ray-Ban sunglasses because the sun was being too hot that one day, for only Php50 from the Flea Market. It has a faded purple tint and I'm sorry it didn't show in the photo below.

My guitar finally arrived! It was a gift from my Dad so I don't know how much it costs. It's from Lele Lumanog Guitars by the way it's the black one on the photo below.

BOOKS! I got four books this month!

Price list and where I found it:
  1. Black Spring by Alison Croggon - National Bookstore (sale) - less than Php200 (original price Php475)
  2. Wildefire by Karsten Knight - Booksale - Php145
  3. Dragon Keeper by Carole Wilkinson - Booksale - Php160
  4. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan - Booksale - Php175
