Here's to another year

Well here we go, another new year has come. I seriously don't care anymore. Every year is the same. I find it hyprocitical how grandeur Filipinos celebrate welcoming the new year and then immerse back to work a few days later being the same displeased employee. It doesn't take long before "hope" becomes so last year. Nothing particular changes. You see, celebrating new year is like celebrating turning 18. You anticipate your party and plan ahead only to realize adulthood is not so much better as when you're 17 years old. Same thoughts, same routine, same people. I find it quite absurd, wheeling down to being pointless.

It's just really tiring to go all out with the food and the decorations and the celebration, only to put it down right after. As you prepare to go back to work, here you are stuck with the errands and making the house look as identical to the way it was before all the holiday shenanigas. Unless you can hire someone to do it for you, I'd rather not do something I can't clean up in an hour or two afterwards. The extra day between new years and work is supposed to be for me, not for the house, not for saying goodbyes.

I'm that kind of person, and I hate to admit it too. Nonetheless, I'm so tired keeping up with this facade. Thats's the only reason I wanted to stay in the city. I refused relentlessly to spend it in the province, in front of a dozen or two judgmental eyes. But we end up here anyway, unfamiliar faces, but same old tactics.
