My neighbor was listening to music earlier and let’s just say that the volume was not subtle. It was not exactly top ten hits either. As I was curling my hair, I can’t help but to listen to the lyrics. This particular line exactly “Bakit kung sino pa ang s’yang marunong magmahal, ay s’yang madalas maiwan ‘nang walang dahilan?” I keep wondering, what does love have anything to do with that? Love is not a social butterfly. Love is not outgoing, an extrovert. That love, to be effective, should be reactive. Love does not seek reward.
These days, people are used to unrealized efforts, love as an introvert. But not in a sad way like hopelessness, but realism and acceptance. That things don’t always get reciprocated and in that absence, you are not degraded as a person. You are not a victim.
People these days are beginning to see that life is not a matching set. Set A does not correspond to a definite answer in Set B. Sometimes there are excess answers, or not enough questions. There are no definite answers as there are no answer keys. Everything operates by choice. Choose your answers. Choose not to choose.
Having the ability to choose far exceeds the ecstasy of having the ability to be loved.
