#IWASTHERE: I went to a concert alone

I never actually thought I'd end up doing what I just did. I saw a freaking concert... ALONE. Yes, I saw David Guetta by myself. This is what happened.

I was supposed to get VIP passes for Guetta. All was set and so was my date. Unfortunately by some bizarre change of events, I ended up losing the passes. I had accepted my fate and was okay with not seeing David Guetta that night.

My blockmates and I, instead, attempted to finish our due paper for later this month. We met on the same day, and coincidently near the same area. We finished around 6pm, had dinner, and was done and ready to leave at 8pm.

I wasn't familiar with the area, so I decided to walk around before going home. My feet took me  to Araneta Coliseum. Upon seeing the ticket booth, my adrenaline took ever. The next thing I knew, I was entering the concert avenue, alone, spontaneous, and with a super heavy luggage (Hi laptop and books!). I wanted to get the VIP ticket but I had some concerns. No.1: It would be awkward standing alone in the crowd. No.2: My backpack. So I bought the Patron instead, so I was given a seat.

The opening acts took two hours long, and Guetta appeared on stage around 12mn. I was waiting for him the whole time since 8pm! At first I was shy. I was worried that people were thinking how lonely I must be to go alone. It wasn't until an old man sat behind me (he was alone too), that I felt a little better. I guess it's his thing to go alone, or maybe he's just a die hard fan.

By the time Guetta was onstage, it was beyond expectations. His set was lit and it didn't become awkward at all. Basically, the Patron people crowded during Guetta's set, so being alone didn't seem too obvious. The lights were all turned off so no one can see my face. I thought I'd be seated the whole time, but I was able to dance along, pump my fist, and scream without reservations. It was so much fun because I didn't have to worry about anyone else. I didn't feel the need to smoke or drink. I was just there enjoying pure music.

I'd definitely do it again!
