#IWASTHERE: Neverland presents Young Gunz

I wasn't really planning to go. If you ask me a year ago, I was certain I wouldn't be in the Philippines at this time. But I was. So therefore, I had to go.

I was completely bored. Perhaps we came in too early (at 9pm), or perhaps it's simply just boring. Either way, I didn't enjoy the music festival as much as I often do.

Every transaction inside is cashless, which reminded me a little bit of Closeup Forever Summer. But this time, they do it in "tokens" which could get easily lost. They come in "chips", how ironic considering the recent tragedy with Resorts World.

There wasn't as many food stalls as Chroma Music Festival, which leads me to think Chroma may come closer to a second to Closeup Forever Summer as the most lit festival ever. It was held at the same venue in Makati, so I expected the same convenience regards the restroom accessibility. However this time, that is not the case. They had the "legit" restrooms off-limits for unknown reasons.

I suppose for a Gold ticket holder, Neverland seemed fair by allowing everyone at the mosh pit. And speaking of the moshpit, it was the most dead crowd I've ever encountered in my life. It wasn't even that  suffocating. I believe I can still dance tango there. Everyone was just standing there, making it damn awkward. Even at 11pm, there was no progress.

I try to convince myself that "time" has something to do with the mood. Neverland lasts until 3am, and Blasterjaxx doesn't come on stage until 1am. Maybe the set was just unlit. But regardless, I see far better energy elsewhere than right there. And even so, Julian Jordan (A-lister DJ in my opinion) worked the stage at 10pm, and still nothing. There were a few people dancing and having fun, but majority was just on their phones.

I could imagine the set for Firebeatz and Blasterjaxx. Those would have been amazing. After all, they were the icing in the cake. But what about the first few sets? I've never seen a crowd so bored at a music festival. There wasn't even that many people. Again, was it just too early? I can't prove otherwise because my friends and I decided to leave early.

It was that boring.
