Dear Tob

Dear Tob,

I know exactly how it feels, little brother, to have your creativity suppressed by authority. I cannot save you from despair by telling you it will be okay, because it will not be okay. You are young, and unfortunately born with a Father just like my own. You represent our generation, digital and documented. You do not seek the ordinary. You are driven by purpose. But you will have to do things against your will for a little while longer. I am so sorry for this, little brother. You will hate your life, and you will repeat it to yourself several more times. You will seek independence and liberty. You will raise an alter ego and it will thrive behind closed doors. It will be a long journey and every night you will wish to find your voice. Keep the fire tamed, little brother. Let it live inside you. Do not kill it. Feed it when your Father isn't looking. One day, you will find the courage and the right to reveal it. And when that day comes, I will be there. I will support your every desire, no matter how insignificant. I will listen to your voice, no matter how faint. I will follow your path, no matter how bleak. For I will be there, when you finally had enough.

Love,
Ate
