To be genuine friends with anybody, and to cultivate a healthy relationship, both have to be co-equals of each other.
I actually thought she treated him as an equal, a gym buddy, or even as a friend, but when she gave him something unusable under the disguise of a "gift", I don't think it is in any way a representation of true friendship. In fact I think she is putting herself higher than him. She is exhibiting superiority, whether intentional or unintentional. The thing with the subconscious mind is that it speaks more of the intention compare to the conscious mind.
I'm writing about it here because I know for a fact he wouldn't listen to me. He is in some aspect, corrupted by his admiration of her talent. And I've given up arguments on it. I'll just let it go this time. Let him be.
